You don't need an “art or design” background, just the desire to learn. In the true spirit of a community college serving our neighbors, our classes are offered to anyone who is interested in the study of Architecture and design. Do you enjoy 'figuring things out' or 'making stuff'? Each student will receive a quality education and training that is on par with that offered by a university or the industry.
We are committed to the study of Architecture and Design. That also includes technology, culture, environment, and the pursuit of knowledge. The faculty believes in diversity of study, and encourages a wide range of investigation. The path of a design education is not limited in its direction, but rather a dynamic process that is interwoven with professionalism, social awareness, sustainability, historic precedent, and the humanities.
At Harbor College students learn directly from professional architects and designers who have a passion for their field, love teaching, and share their knowledge and professional experience on a daily basis. Harbor Architecture is committed to making sure that our students are taught and mentored by the best qualified instructors in the profession. The faculty brings multidisciplinary skills that go beyond the traditional scope of Architecture with expertise that includes Product Design, Interiors, Illustration, Graphic Design, Furniture Design and Fabrication. This allows our students to experience multiple perspectives on problem-solving strategies while learning skills that extend into other careers and professions beyond the boundaries of traditional Architecture.
